FAQs and Rules

BPHV's regional trip matching and ride sharing service is £5 to £7 per person for Individuals and Groups or £21 per couple one-way anywhere within London’s M25

A: To be picked-up and dropped-off within your selected post codes at an agreed location or approximately 10mins walk to your destination. Pick-up waiting times two minutes maximum.

A, You are guaranteed a seat, works to your timetable, and in a PHV/Taxi you have more chance of getting out of jams or allowing time for specific traffic hotspots. You can share with friends, family, work colleagues, travel companions or strangers.

A: Only Taxis licensed by TfL are exempt from the congestion charge. All other PHOs' and Taxis drivers are likely to add a fee. Please check before booking. 

A: Matching two or more rides within the same post code, site location (airport) or exact location (landmark or bus stop)

A, No. Your email and password will work on both.

A: Sometimes a door-to-door service can be achieved, but it's not part of this service. If you want a door-to-door service, please contact your local PHO who will happily give you a price.

A: It could be outside your premises, end of the road, or a point of reference like church, bus stop, shop or post box.

A: Ask the driver who s/he is collecting, and what is your drop-off post code.

A: Remember to consider the vehicle space required to make your journey a pleasant experience. You must also inform the PHO/Taxi driver of any special arrangements/requirements for your collection. All PHO's/Taxi drivers are bound by law to accept bookings from disabled passengers.

A: You are respectfully reminded that all PHVs and Taxis are non-smoking, no eating unless you are willing to pay the driver to clean-up after you, and the other passengers do not object, no alcohol and no foul/abusive/aggressive language. We welcome good manners, sense of humour and interesting conversation, if you are in the mood.

A: Credit & Debit Cards over the phone/via their website. Cash will only be taken in advance so you must be in the proximity of your local PHO/Taxi driver should they be taking you.

A: Experience has taught us that some people will do whatever it takes to get into a PHV/Taxi only to tell the driver that they have changed their destination. In fact they may or may not have booked a Taxi or PHV with that PHO, so obtaining someone else’s PHV/Taxi and leave them stranded. By paying in advance the driver will only get paid for picking up the correct passengers.

A: Normally a couple of pieces of hand luggage per passenger is fine, but, if you have large artwork, tools or went on a shopping spree then you need to inform the PHO/Taxi driver before you’ve booked a PHV/Taxi ride.

A: Yes, if it’s getting out of the area where you’ve just been picked-up or on-route to your destination but be mindful of other passengers in the PHV/Taxi as they may have also spoken to the driver.

A: PHO controllers or Taxi drivers will arrange pick-up and drop-off times.

A: Yes, inform the PHO/Taxi drivers they are all employees of the same company and make sure the pick-ups and drop-offs are heading in the same direction; I.E. South East.

A: Yes, there are thousands of drivers who live around the M25 or beyond. The PHO/Taxi driver will negotiate a price with you.

A: Remember to consider the vehicle space required to make your journey a pleasant experience. You must also inform the PHO/Taxi driver of any special arrangements/requirements for your collection. All PHO's/Taxi drivers are bound by law to accept bookings from disabled passengers.

A: Yes, be sure the school run travels in one direction and you allow time for every pick-up, 2 mins max. The first pick-up has to be a parent/guardian/child escort with or without a child. PHOs/Taxi drivers will not collect school children alone. Read the How it works section for more details.

A: Yes, provided s/he is located on-route to the original destination and does not affect the timing of the overall journey. This MUST not be discovered at time of pick-up but, explained to the PHO/Taxi driver before the first pick-up. If not then that passenger cannot be accommodated and the fare will not be refunded.

A: Just contact the PHO/Taxi driver that took your booking and obtain a refund.

A: At the moment, Yes. 05:00 to 19:30 hours 7 days a week (Excluding all public holidays in England)

A: Should there be more then a 5 minute delay either the driver or PHO controller will call/message to advise you when the PHV/Taxi will get to you.

A: Contact the PHO/Taxi driver and let them know where you are located, if close by or on route to your destination they will most probably pick you up.

A: You have at least five hours to cancel your pre-booked journey to obtain a refund. Anything less is dependant on the PHO/Taxi driver replacing you on your journey.

A: No, for two reasons; 1, no luggage space and 2, collection & pick-up times will exceed 2mins. Just use the Airports&Ports service.

A: Yes, but you will pay a little premium. £10.50 each one-way as opposed to £7 each one-way
